In 1915 Ernest Shackleton had been ice
bound for a year during his Antarctic expedition.
Out of desperation and near starvation,
some of his men went hunting, but for one of them, the tables
were turned, when he was attacked by Antarctica's most dangerous
predator, the huge leopard seal.
He desperately tried to escape but the
seal's razor-sharp teeth were getting ever nearer. The full exciting
story will be in John's new book, "Legendary Hunters and
Explorers, due out later this year. The story will also be previewed
in an upcoming issue of Sporting Classics magazine.
