Gopher on the Ninth
Acrylic on Panel 12x16
SOLD
The gopher tortoise
has become a
prominent resident of Useppa. So
entrenched in Island society, one
tortoise even had its own mailbox,
Mr. T. The artist takes you back to
when the Island was more or less a
nine-hole golf course. Seerey-Lester
imagines a gopher sharing its
home with the ninth hole, positioned
where the tennis courts are today,
behind the Club House.
