It is 1914, and World War I is about to break out in Europe, but in Wyoming the night is clear and still,and a hunter is relaxed around his campfire preparing for supper. However, this peaceful night is soon to change. The silence of the night is broken by the snap of a twig, the hunter responds to the sound but does not know the source of the intrusion. Soon he will, and one of the guns at his side will be put into service, as a fight for survival will ensue with the approaching black bear.

I enjoy painting moonlight and the way it plays on things; the warm campfire contrasts nicely with this otherwise cool scene.
