"Twilight Tales"
Acrylic on Panel 9”x12”
SOLD

In this piece it is 1919, Colorado, and the hunters have returned to camp to discuss the exploits of the day. They have probably been bear hunting. As dinner simmers on the fire; twilight engulfs the camp. One man cleans his gun; their talk turns to tall tales from previous hunts.
As an artist, I enjoy the play of light and dark. Twilight has always fascinated me for this reason, and I paint it often. I have deliberately placed the only two light sources away from the main subject. Hopefully the viewer will see the fire first, then discover my main characters, the two hunters.
